Each of the Art Labs studios will be having special demonstrations and drop-in sessions during Art-A-Whirl this May, so stop in for some fun any time during the weekend!

Come play with color and clay to make a one of a kind heart for your bestie or yourself. We provide the form and clay, you get to cut and combine your favorite colors in a fun collage covered pendant.


Your piece will need to be cured for 30 minutes after you complete it, giving you time to try another Art Appetizer or just feast your eyes on the amazingly talented artists throughout our many many open studios in Northrup King!

Choose from our assortment of funky glass & polymer Beads, wire and accessories to create your own Art Bead Charm from the Heart!

You can assemble it here with our tools and help, or you can put together a custom kit to do at home – you choose!

Art-bead-personKits include up to 2 Med-Lg art beads, 12” wire, up to 4 small beads, and 12” of art yarn or cording for stringing. You will need basic round- or needle-nose jewelry and crimping pliers to complete the kit at home.

Cost: $15 each

Dye a Silk Scarf Art Appetizer 2/6/2016

Location: Delightfully Dyed (Carole Hallman) #143 Northrup King Building
Registration: None required – just drop in!

Create an original silk scarf by painting with dye. Then fold and clamp and dip in another color to let the colors come through to achieve a stained glass look.

Cost: $20.00 plus materials ($5 – $10 per scarf)

Come Make Your Own Felted Flower Brooches or Hairclips!

Choose from hand dyed wool fabrics to create a flower that will not wilt and you can wear forever. You can decide to sew a pin on the back or a hairclip.
